If you had a friend who constantly talked bad about you, gave you bad advice and generally was a negative influence on your life would you keep them around?
Would you want to be with them all the time? Would you want to give them your time and energy? Hell no!
You’d drop that loser like a bad habit and kick them in the ass on the way out! You’d say goodbye and hope you never have to deal with them again. And you’d be right!
For many of us though, the person doing that talking is that tiny voice in our head. Your Ego.
It is you poisoning your mind with self talk and chatter. Mentally beating yourself up and talking smack. Being a dick.
Why would you want to be your own worst enemy? Shouldn’t you be your best ally and friend? You’re the only person you’re going to be with everyday so you better be good to yourself!
You should be encouraging yourself, being positive being your best friend. Feeding your mind with positive thoughts and happiness. Talking yourself up not bringing you down.
Your mindset is the only thing that you can totally control. You can choose to be happy, sad, mad, etc.
So why would you choose to purposely beat yourself up and tell yourself that you suck? Usually it’s because you lack self confidence and self worth! You don’t believe in yourself and your abilities to get something done.
So you self-sabotage your efforts by whispering in your own ear that aren’t good enough or smart enough or that it just can’t be done. Then the worse thing happens, you start to believe it!
Instead of putting forth concentrated and focused effort, you take little or no action. Or you take half-assed measures and self-justify your failure when it doesn’t work out. You convince yourself you suck and that you’re no good.
But is it true? Only if you believe it. And if you constantly tell yourself that you suck you will start to believe it. Then you will start a nasty cycle of doubt and fear and take no measurable action towards your goals. You’ll be mentally cowering in a corner waiting for some miracle to happen.
So how do you break out of this funk and get back on track? How to you create self confidence and start building yourself up instead of breaking yourself down? It all starts with you.
You have to start creating a habits of giving gratitude, self affirmations that build you up, of small victories. Develop habits that will change your mindset and turn you into someone that has self confidence and totally believes in themselves and what you can do.
Stop feeding the beast with negativity and choose to be happy in the face of adversity.
And if a setback happens, don’t let it stop you. Don’t get derailed over one silly little thing! This is going to happen when you are out there trying to get shit done. Get over it quickly and move on.
Keep moving and keep hustling. Take Action.
