Want to be more productive and get more done each day? Then you must take the time to plan your day the night before. This one simple action will set you up for maximum productivity, efficiency and give you a straight forward plan on what to attack when you start your day.
Look at it as a road map for a trip that you are going to take to someplace you haven’t visited yet. A map (your plan for the day) will help you get the most out of the trip in least amount of effort in figuring out what to do.
By planning your day the night before you won’t waste any time the next morning trying to figure out what to do.
You’ll already know who, what, where, when and how your energy will spent. No guessing. No procrastination. No wasted time or efforts. Just wake up and get after it!
How to plan your day the right way
Get out a pad of paper and write out all the things that you think that you have to get done. Work, home, personal, relationships, etc. Just get it all out of your head.
Let’s say you want to focus on work activities that will make you money. Go through your list and mark or highlight those actions that are work related.
Then take those highlighted items and rank them in terms of importance from 1 to 5 with 1 being the top priority.
Now take the tasks that you marked as 1’s and pick 3-5 of them that you can work on the next morning.
Take one of the 1s and fully complete it. Get it done! Then once you are completely finished, move on to the next item on the list and complete that one. And so on.
But only focus on 3 to 5 items per day. If you don’t get one completely done due to some reason, roll it over to the next day. But get it done as soon as possible.
After you have your 1s knocked out you can work on the 2s, 3s, etc. These items are important but always take a back seat to the most important tasks because those are the ones that make you the most money!
Take the 10 minutes to write out everything and plan your day the night before. Your wallet will thank you for it!
